Nestlé has sold two nutrition businesses – one in France and the other in Spain – to German healthcare group Fresenius SE.
Fresenius Kabi, a subsidiary of the German firm, has acquired the Novartis Nutrition business in France, as well as Nestlé Healthcare Nutrition Spain.
The two enteral nutrition businesses produce products delivered to patients via the intestinal tract.
The disposals were made to meet the European Commission’s conditional approval of Nestlé’s acquisition of the worldwide clinical nutrition business of Novartis.
The Swiss food giant sealed the acquisition in July.
