The promotion, with effect from 1 March, will see Heer succeed Dr Spettmann as chief sales officer. Spettmann will retire at the end of the 2009 general meeting.
Heer joined Sudzucker in 1987, his last position being chairman of Berlin-based chilled and frozen foods subsidiary Freiberger.
