At a meeting in Cologne, Rewe’s supervisory board granted Egner’s request to have his contract dissolved.


Caparros (49), who was in charge of Rewe’s international operations, discount stores and the bulk customer business, was elected unanimously as the new CEO by the supervisory board at the same meeting.


The retailer has also appointed Frank Hensel (48), previously a member of the management board of Rewe Group Austria, to the management board of Rewe Group. Other management board positions remain unaltered.
