According to a report in the Financial Times Deutschland, German retailer Rewe plans to sack its chief executive officer Achim Egner at a supervisory board meeting being held today (1 September).

Citing unnamed sources, the paper said Egner will be replaced by Alain Caparros, currently a member of Rewe’s board.
Egner has come under fire for the fast pace of his restructuring plan.
When contacted by just-food, Rewe was unavailable for comment on the issue.
