German sugar refiner Südzucker has booked a jump in nine-month earnings on the back of higher revenues in the third-quarter.
For the period to the end of December, net earnings climbed by 35.1% to EUR254m (US$321.9m).

Operating profit jumped by 41% to EUR586m. The company said the earnings improvement was mainly driven by the sugar segment. Revenues rose from EUR4.6bn to EUR5.2bn.
For the year, Südzucker forecasts an increase in group revenues to around EUR6.8bn, compared to EUR6.2bn in the previous year. Operating profit is projected to increase 44.5% to about EUR750m.
