US natural and organic food company Hain Celestial has announced that its Belgian subsidiary has acquired Natumi, a German producer of non-dairy beverages and desserts marketed principally to retailers in Europe.

The acquisition adds Natumi’s “Milkfree” brand to Hain Celestial’s product portfolio and gives the company the facility to produce its own non-dairy beverages and desserts in Europe, meeting the growing demand for non-dairy products, the company said.


The purchase price of the Natumi business was not disclosed, and Hain Celestial said the anticipated rises in revenue and income are not expected to be material in the coming year.
