Listed Greek snack and croissant manufacturer Chipita International is considering establishing production units in Serbia and the Ukraine in 2002.
According to the local newspaper Express, Chipita will buy a plot of land in Serbia to build a plant in the first half of this year.
The company will meanwhile advance its investment plans in the Ukraine only if demand for the Chipita’s products is sufficient in the local market. The products have been distributed in the country from the beginning of this year through the retail network Axxon, a local subsidiary of the Chipita’s compatriot Germanos group.
Chipita has also revealed plans to build a new plant in Poland and expand its existing manufacturing unit in Romania.
