Greek sugar producer Hellenic Sugar Industry has posted a €7.8m (US$9.18m) pre-tax profit for the first nine months of its financial year to 30 June 2003, down from €11.5m for the year-ago period.

The company said earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) were down 18.7% year-on-year.
Hellenic’s turnover fell to €195.3m from €211.1m in the year-ago period, reported the Greek news Digest.
