US fastfood giant McDonald’s has said sales at its three restaurants at Olympic venues in Greece have so far exceeded its predictions.

As the second week of the games begins, McDonald’s said its outlets at the Olympic Village, Main Press Centre (MPC) and Athens Olympic Sports Complex (OAKA) have seen a steady increase in sales every day.

The company, which is an official sponsor of the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, said its salads and fruit and yoghurt products had sold particularly well.

This year, McDonald’s announced the continuation of its sponsorship for the next four consecutive Olympic Games through to 2012.
