A spokesperson for the company told just-food that Greencore manufactures sandwiches at its production plant in Manton Wood.

"This is a multi-million pound investment in a new purpose built state-of-the-art distribution hub, which is located close to our large, modern sandwich manufacturing facility at Manton Wood and this will enable us to better serve our convenience store customers," the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson revealed that the facility replaces a depot in Sheffield, where 50 people are currently employed. These workers will transfer to Manton Wood and an additional 20 roles will be created at the site. Greencore added that there is potential for a further 80 jobs to be created in the future.
