Canadian natural food maker GreenSpace Brands said yesterday (1 June) the group’s VP of finance, Cindy Leung, has been appointed interim CFO to succeed Mathew Walsh.

GreenSpace said Walsh is “undertaking a geographical move for personal reasons, following the completion of the company’s fourth quarter results”.

Leung’s interim appointment, which is subject to approval by Canada’s TSX Venture Exchange, is effective from 22 June. However, GreenSpace said it had “identified a well-qualified replacement who the company expects to announce at a later date”.

GreenSpace president and CEO Matthew von Teichman said Walsh “has been a great finance leader and an exceptional team member, helping our company through this period of rapid growth over the past two years”. “We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”

Teichman said the appointment of Leung, who joined GreenSpace in November 2015, “leaves us in good hands while we finalise the search for a permanent successor”.
