House-Autry Mills, a US supplier of sauces, breading mixes and cornbread, has snapped up local sauces manufacturer Captain Foods.
The deal, struck for an undisclosed sum, will see House-Autry Mills “strengthen our position in the growing seasonings and hot-sauce categories”, the company said yesterday (18 December).
Florida-based Captain Foods markets sauces under its namesake and SharkBite brands. The company’s products are stocked at US retailers including Publix. It is also a private-label supplier to restaurants.
“We’re very excited to add the quality products of Captain Foods to House-Autry’s stable of seasonings and breaders,” Craig Hagood, the CEO of House-Autry Mills, said. “With this acquisition, we will widen the range of delicious mealtime offerings we provide to meet today’s consumer needs.”
