HUNGARY: Foreign ministry warns Poland to drop customs surcharge
The Hungarian Foreign Ministry has warned that unless Poland lifts the customs surcharge levied on some Hungarian wheat and processed tomatoes, commensurate countermeasures could be introduced. The ministry has sent a written protest to Warsaw over the surcharges, which it claims are illegal and groundless. The letter argues that such charges conflict with the provisions of the Central European Free Trade Agreement as well as bilateral ministers' agreements between the two countries.
