Bakkavör has acquired a 48% share of Hong Kong food and beverage supplier Gastro Primo for an undisclosed sum.

Gasto Primo specialises in supplying food service companies, catering establishments and restaurants in Hong Kong and Macau.
CEO Ágúst Gudmundsson said: “We see opportunities in co-operation with our existing Chinese businesses that will further support our expansion and future growth in China.”
Bakkavör has an option to buy the remaining 52% of the business in 2010.
The move is the Bakkavör’s third acquisition this year. In January, the Iceland-based group made its first move into the US, with the acquisition of Two Chefs on a Roll, a Californian fresh and frozen prepared foods supplier.
