Bakkavör Group has appointed Richard Howes to the position of chief financial officer of the Reykjavik-based company.
Howes, who has served with the company for nine years, is succeeding Hildur Árnadóttir, who will now work directly for Ágúst Gudmundsson, Bakkavör’s CEO, and chairman Lýdur Gudmundsson.
Prior to his appointment with Bakkavör, Howes worked in corporate finance at
Dresdner Kleinwort Benson in London.
In January, Bakkavör acquired Two Chefs on a Roll, a Californian fresh and frozen prepared foods supplier, marking the Icelandic combine’s first move into the US. In the same month the group acquired Yantai Longshun Foods, a Chinese vegetable and fruit supplier.
