Iceland’s Bakkavör Group has snapped up the UK-based Exotic Farm Produce Group for an undisclosed sum.
Bakkavör, which supplies own-label produce for major UK retailers, announced the acquisition of the UK produce and fresh prepared foods firm today (28 August).
Exotic Farm Produce, based in Lincolnshire, supplies the country’s leading supermarkets with speciality fresh produce, fresh prepared vegetables and salads.
Bakkavör CEO Ágúst Gudmundsson said Exotic Farm Produce is a “good strategic fit” with the Icelandic group’s existing businesses in the UK.
“This is a successful and well-invested business with good prospects for continued growth through existing and new customers in the UK and abroad,” Gudmundsson added.
