Adani’s Mundra refinery is currently able to refine around 950 tonnes of crude soybean, sunflower and crude palm oils, imported mainly from Argentina, Brazil and Indonesia.

“The expansion is in line with our fast growing branded oil business. On completion of the expansion we will also start exporting to neighbouring countries,” Gautam Adani, chairman of Adani Exports told Reuters.

The company plans to invest around Rs800m (US$17.4m) in setting up a new plant adjoining the existing facility.

Adani Wilmar is a 50-50 joint venture between India’s Adani Exports and Singapore’s Wilmar Trading.
