“Small retailers have a better chance of improving their revenues, and profits if they learn how to manage their businesses better and plans to set up training centers across the country are already underway. They will largely be taught the basics of better retail management” said a senior official at Bharti-Walmart.
This approach seems opportune, as the fast-growing, organised retail industry has not been received well by small retailers.
Recent protests against organized retail have been in relation to a fear that its entry would result in around 40m job losses across the country.
