Some 35m people are diagnosed with diabetes in India and the parent of Amul India wants to expand its sugar-free range after launching ice cream earlier this year.
“Many people love chocolates despite being diabetic, so we have decided to provide them with sugar-free chocolates, following the successful demand for our sugar-free ice cream” said B. M. Vyas, managing director of GCMMF.
The ice-cream is produced at GCMMF’s Mother Dairy plant at Gandhinagar, while the chocolates will be made at Amul’s chocolate factory near Anandnagar, in Ahmedabad.
