Godrej Beverages and Foods is to acquire the candy maker Nutrine Confectionery. A spokesperson confirmed the deal would go ahead after the story appeared in the Economic Times of India.

Speaking to Dow Jones the spokesperson said: “Technically it is yes.” However, she added that all the facts about the deal will be revealed on Wednesday evening, and declined to give any financial details.


The Economic Times report said that Godrej, along with other associates, will buy 100% of Nutrine Confectionery for about INR2.7bn (US$0.058bn).
