Hindustan Unilever, the consumer goods giant’s Indian arm, has launched export rice brand Gold Seal Indus Valley in its domestic market.

The brand has been shipped to markets in the Middle East since 1986 but Hindustan Unilever has decided to try out the basmati rice brand in India.

“We are now making Gold Seal Indus Valley available in India in select cities only in the modern trade channel,” a spokesperson for Hindustan Unilever told just-food. “It is currently available in select modern trade outlets in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata and Hyderabad and will be extended in a phased manner to other cities next year.”
