Germany’s Metro Group is planning to open four additional cash-and-carry stores in India by the end of fiscal 2012.
A spokesperson for the company told just-food the retailer will open one new outlet in Zirkpur in Punjab and a further stores in Indore, in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The locations of the remaining two stores in the pipe line are yet to be announced.

“Metro Cash & Carry would like to keep a steady and sustainable expansion pace in India,” the spokesperson revealed. Metro operates 11 wholesale outlets in various Indian cities.
