The newly formed group intends to establish distribution facilities for fresh fruit and vegetables across the sub-continent. Tata Chemicals, part of the steel giant Tata, already controls a network of agri-service centres supplying advice and equipment to farmers.
The first two centres to be set up will be located in the north and east of India. The initial investment will total EUR4.5m (US$5.85m).
