India-based ADF Foods said today (8 November) it had sealed the acquisition of US natural and organic firm Elena’s Food Specialities.

ADF said it had bought “all substantial assets and certain liabilities” of Elena’s for an undisclosed sum.

“Some of Elena’s existing shareholders will hold a minority stake in ADF’s operating subsidiary in the USA,” ADF added.

Elena’s, which turned over US$9m in sales in 2009, owns the PJ’s Organics and Nate’s brands, and supplies private-label products to US retailers.
