Kievit has reached agreement on the purchase of the fixed assets (land, buildings and equipment) of the Indonesian company Tirta Amerta Agung. In the new location in Salatiga on Central Java, Kievit will produce a number of basic ingredients for the foodstuff industry, such as creamers.

Kievit is opening its own production plant in Indonesia in order to improve its position in the growth region South-East Asia. The expensive euro makes export from the Netherlands difficult and establishing a local presence enables a quicker and better response to the rapid developments and wishes of clients in South-East Asia.

The first step is to modernise the production plant. The first roll-out is expected to take place at the end of 2005. Employment for more than 100 people will be created.

Kievit develops, produces and markets powdered ingredients for use in the food industry.
