Indonesian noodle maker Indofood has announced a fall in net profit to 278.1bn rupiah (US$29.8m) in 2004, compared with 603.5bn rupiah in 2003.

Net sales were 17.9 trillion rupiah. The company blamed the fall in profits on net losses of foreign exchange of 296.9bn rupiah, compared with a low of 102.0bn in 2003, pointing to an 8.9% devaluation of the rupiah.
Noodles, flour and edible oils & fats remain the principal contributors with a total contribution of 15.3 trillion rupiah or 85% (2003 : 85%) of consolidated sales.
