Indonesia’s largest flourmill and wheat importer Bogasari Flour Mills has opened a milling facility in Singapore.

The new plant, which was built at an estimated cost of around S$12m (US$6.9m), is expected to produce around 60,000 tons of flour per year, some of which will be sold on the Singapore market.

“Most of the output from that plant will be for exports. We decided to set it up in Singapore since we feel it can serve as a very good export hub for high-end markets in Japan and East Asia,” Philip Purnama, Bogasari’s senior vice-president, told Reuters.
