Glanbia told just-food today (16 January) that it is in “advanced negotiations” with a management team led by Jim Hanley, chief executive of the company’s meats business.
A spokesperson said Glanbia was looking to seal a deal by the end of next month for a business deemed to be no longer core to the company.
“We have identified core areas like cheese and nutritional ingredients, that’s where we want to put our investment and meats is a distraction from that,” the spokesperson said.
Glanbia’s business-to-business meats arm employs 850 people in Ireland.
