Kerry Group has moved to cool speculation in Ireland that claimed a move to upgrade a spreads plant in the UK could hit jobs at an Irish site.
The project at the facility in Ossett in West Yorkshire prompted a report in Ireland to claim up to 50 jobs at a plant in Listowel in south-west Ireland could be at risk.

Speaking to just-food today (18 August), a spokesperson for Kerry confirmed the company was upgrading the Ossett plant but insisted the company had made “no suggestion” jobs at the Listowel plant are at risk.
The spokesperson said “no decision has been taken in any way” on jobs.
He explained a routine meeting was held with staff at one of the production departments in Listowel that produces spreads, during which the upgrading of the Ossett site in the UK had been mentioned.
“There has been speculation it might impact on our production at the Listowel site,” said the spokesperson. “In answer to a question whether this would impact production – we had nothing to say on that. [We said] all our businesses were constantly under review in terms of maximising efficiency, but if we had anything to report on we would report it to them [staff].”
