The retailer, along with ten branch managers, has been hit by a criminal indictment from Israel’s Industry and Trade Ministry.
The indictment includes 14 charges of alleged violations of consumer protection laws between 2005 and 2006. The counts include deceiving consumers and charging more than the marked price on products.
The violations allegedly occurred in Super-Sol branches, as well as in its subsidiary chains Cosmos, Super-Sol Deal, Hyper-Neto and Zol Po.
Super-Sol has indicated that it has received the charge sheet and is examining the list of indictments. The company insists it follows Israeli law.
