Super-Sol, Israel’s largest supermarket chain, was fined ILS450,000 (US$104,895) for pricing irregularities. The chain was found guilty of over-pricing regulated products, inconsistencies between the price marked and the price charged at the cash register, and failure to mark price.

According to a report in TheMarker, the lawsuit originated with a Consumer Council investigation after complaints that the chain was overcharging for regulated dairy products by about 5.5%. The Ministry of Industry and Trade claimed that Super-Sol had been cheating in that way for three months, gaining itself ILS70,000 in extra revenue.
