Declining expenses allowed Super-Sol to post an increase in third-quarter profits today (28 October), despite a slight drop in sales.
Israel’s largest supermarket chain said net profit rose to ILS63m (US$16.9m), up from ILS59m posted in the comparable period of last year.
Sales for the quarter slipped to ILS2.88bn, from ILS2.89bn, amid heightened competition in the market.
Same-store sales dipped 1.6%, the company revealed.
