Israeli food distributor G Willi-Food has agreed to sell its stake in Israeli kosher food exporter YLW Baron Internatoinal Trading for US$937,500.

The deal will return full ownership of Baron to the Baron family.

Baron primarily exports its products to the US market. However, Willi-Food insisted that the US remains a strategic “region of interest”.

“For now, we are seeking more US based customers to distribute our products while diversifying our product base in order to hedge against any single event impacting our results; customers who wish to grow their volume and diversify their line of premium kosher products,”  Zwi Williger, president and COO of Willi-Food, said.

“Our strategy is to leverage Willi-Food’s global supplier relationships and expertise in product development to capitalise on the growing demand for innovative kosher products for both kosher and health consumers in the US.”
