The company said today (21 May) that it has struck a deal with local fruit and vegetable group Consorzio Interregionale Ortofrutticolo (CIO).

Boschi is a business that produces a range of tomato-based products, fruit juices and tea-based beverages.

The sale is the latest of a series of disposals at Parmalat. Last week, the company said it had sold businesses in Spain and Portugal.

Parmalat has embarked on a restructuring programme following its financial collapse in 2003. It has sold its stake in a number of Australian and European businesses.
