Japan’s House Foods Corp. has secured control of a health food venture in the country.
House Foods has bought a 34% stake in House Wellness Foods Corp. from venture partner Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. in a deal worth around JPY10bn (US$86.5m).
The venture sells a range of food and beverages including C1000 Vitamin Lemon.
Takeda, Japan’s largest pharmaceutical maker, is looking to focus on its core operations.
