Japanese convenience group Lawson has formed a “mutually beneficial” business alliance with regional supermarket operator San-A Co. to expand its business in the Okinawa Prefecture.
The two companies have agreed to work together across various fields, including jointly developing boxed lunches and delicatessen items using local ingredients; developing new products; sharing sales information; and conducting joint sales promotions and store development.
Lawson said today (21 January) that the two companies would discuss the possibility of future joint venture CVS operations under the Lawson brand in Okinawa Prefecture, or the possibility of San-A operating as an area franchisee.
