Morinaga Milk Industry has posted an increase in first-quarter profit today (10 August), according to reports.
For the three months to 30 June, net income reached JPY2.97bn (US$30.5m), an increase of 76.3% over the previous year, Reuters reported.
Sales were also up, reaching JPY153.82bn compared to JPY149.10bn in the comparable period of 2008.
Operating profit increased 53.2% to reach JPY5.46bn.
The company forecast profit of JPY4.20bn for the six months to 30 September, and sales of JPY315.60bn.
