Nissin blamed the fall on last year’s unusually hot summer, but said it had stepped up cost reductions to increase profit.
The company reported a net profit of 16.61bn yen, up 18.2% and a pretax profit of 33.18bn yen, up 29.5%.
For fiscal 2005, Nissin expects a net profit of 17bn yen and a pretax profit of 36bn yen on sales of 328bn yen.
