A native of Tokyo, Isaka, 51, joined Seven-Eleven Japan 30 years ago as a graduate.


Previously occupying mostly product development and planning related posts at the company, Isaka, who has been director since 2002, takes over from the 62-year-old Toshiro Yamaguchi.


Chairman Toshifumi Suzuki is expected to stay on in his current role. The company’s new chief said he would remain focused on what he has called 7/11 Japan’s “legendary product quality”.
