The new plant, one of six the company operates, will turn out its Les Gavottes brand crispy crepes biscuit range and also handle logistics activities for Loc Maria’s other brand, Traou Mad, which offers a range of galettes and butter biscuits.

Loc Maria’s annual sales this year are expected to total EUR65m. The firm employs 385 staff.

MD Jérôme Tacquard underlined the company’s objective is to double export activity in the mid-term.

Evidence of a commitment to develop its offering in international markets saw Loc Maria set up a US subsidiary in Philadelphia in September. It is also mulling the creation of a subsidiary in Asia.
