Work is expected to start in April and is scheduled for completion in March 2021, a company spokesman told just-food, adding that seven jobs will be created from the project, taking its employee count to 70.

“It (the extension) will enable us to increase our daily output from the current level of 80,000 units to 120,000 units,” the spokesperson said.

Founded in the 1990s, the family-owned firm produces natural desserts with no artificial colours or preservatives supplied to major retailers across France. It also exports to Belgium, Spain, the Czech Republic, Hong Kong and Dubai, although shipments only account for 4% of its annual turnover, which last year amounted to around EUR20m, the spokesperson confirmed.

The company’s authentic range of desserts includes mousses, pastries, puddings and “churned” yogurts under its namesake brand, and it also offers an organic line.
