Jeff DeLapp, the president of McCain’s operations in North America, said McCain was looking to meet “increasing demand” for the company’s products.

In June, McCain set out plans to grow the capacity of its plant in the Canadian town of Florenceville-Bristol amid what it said was growing demand for “speciality” potato products, including hash browns.

McCain has made a series of announcements on its international manufacturing network this year.

In the UK, McCain said in March it would “renew” its Scarborough production facility in the UK as part of a proposed investment in its operations of more than GBP100m (US$129.3m). In January, however, McCain had announced plans to shed jobs at its dry and cold store operations at the Scarborough site.
