McCain Foods has launched a frozen roast potato range in Australia.

The company's McCain Roasts will be available in two variants: traditional and rosemary and garlic.

Made using Australian-grown potatoes, the range is cholesterol-free with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

Mike O’Brien, marketing director for McCain's operations in Australia and New Zealand, said: "In Australia, roast potatoes are the third most popular way of enjoying potatoes, with 40% of consumers preparing roast potatoes once a week or more. Our new frozen potato product takes the hassle out of preparing them; our Roasts are tasty, and quick to cook in only 30 minutes, any night of the week."

McCain Roasts are now available in selected Woolworths Ltd, Coles and IGA retail stores nationally and retail for A$4.49 (US$3.46)
