US spices and sauces maker McCormick & Co. has confirmed plans to launch “global” products in India by the end of the year.

A McCormick spokesperson told just-food today (9 June) the company is “working out the specifics and will share additional details as we get closer to the launch.”

However, the spokesperson added: “We are highly committed to the Indian market and we are constantly making efforts to provide the best quality food products to our Indian customers. Aligned to this agenda, we are planning to import some of the global McCormick products, from other McCormick locations to India later this year.”

Last April, McCormick announced it would become the sole owner in its Indian joint venture Kohinoor Speciality Foods India after settling a dispute with its partner in the business, the local food group Kohinoor Foods Ltd.

McCormick said then the deal place it “in prime position to accelerate its growth and investments plans in India”.
