Naturli’ Foods, the meat-free supplier backed by Nordic food giant Orkla, has added Norway to its list of markets.
The Denmark-based company, which includes in the UK and the US in its market mix, is to target retailers and foodservice operators in Norway.
“Yesterday it was announced that Naturli is being launched in Norway, in both retail and foodservice, with [a product] assortment in [the] dairy and fresh meat aisles. See you in a few weeks brothers and sisters in the north,” Naturli’ CEO Henrik Lund posted on LinkedIn on Friday (31 January).
Naturli’ is a 30-year-old business that only entered the meat-free market in 2014. The company was set up in 1988, selling alternatives to milk in Denmark, such as soy, rice and almond ‘milks’.
The firm has been owned since 2010 by Danish margarine supplier Dragsbaek, which is itself majority-owned by Orkla.
Among the products being launched in Norway are the company’s frozen range of meat substitutes and its oat milk, Lund said. The firm has secured listings at Norwegian retailers Coop, Rema 1000 and Norgesgruppen.
