The company, majority owned by US retail titan Wal-Mart, said it actually sells a lower percentage of imported products than some of its rivals, with Soriana’s imported products making up 8.4% of goods sold, Comerical Mexicana selling 7.7% imports and Gigante selling 5.8% imports, reported Corporate Mexico.
Walmex also said it had invested money in a new distribution centre for frozen food products, enabling the company to buy agricultural products directly from Mexican farms.
