French dairy group Lactalis has reportedly invested EUR17m (US$23m) to expand its operations in the Eastern European country of Moldova.
Lactalis regional director Martial Sekely told Moldova’s Prime Minister Vlad Filat at a meeting yesterday (15 April) that the company also plans to expand cheese and feta cheese exports to former Soviet-Union countries and to Europe, Moldovian publication Oreanda-News reported.

Lactalis has two dairy plants in Moldova where it produces products under the President and Alba brands.
