Mondelez International has added Germany to the markets in which it is selling the thinner version of its Oreo biscuits first launched in China three years ago.

The biscuits have gone on sale in Germany under as Oreo Crispy & Thin, a variation on the name in some other markets. In the UK and Ireland, for example, the biscuits are marketed as Oreo Thins.

Mondelez launched the thinner Oreos in the UK and Ireland late last year. The biscuits were rolled out into Australia earlier in 2016 and into the US in 2015.

While Mondelez does not disclose sales figures by market, when the snacks giant reported its 2016 financial results in February, it said it had “strong growth” from its biscuits business in Germany. It reported a “solid performance” from its chocolate business in the country.

Mondelez is due to announce its financial results for the first quarter of 2017 on 2 May.
