International food retailer Ahold intends to divest assets of its Dutch production company, Marvelo. The company manufactures private label products for Ahold’s Dutch supermarket company Albert Heijn. The activities of Marvelowhich include wine-bottling and tea manufacturing, are no longer considered core to Ahold’s business.
The wine-bottling operation of Marvelo will be sold to Baarsma Holding in The Netherlands. Tea manufacturing will be sold to the German company, Laurens Spethman Holding.
