Ahold is in talks to sell its majority stake in Dutch retailer Schuitema to private equity firm CVC.

In a short statement issued this afternoon (21 January), Ahold said it was in negotiations to offload its 73% stake in Schuitema, which owns the C1000 business.

“The consideration for the transaction will include cash and the transfer of more than fifty stores by Schuitema to Ahold,” the Netherlands-based retail giant said.

Officials at Ahold could not be reached for further comment.
